I'm a PC

I'm a pc and I make everything a little harder than it needs to be
I'm a pc and I choose to not connect to the home network every other time you start me, until you restart me and even then, maybe I will maybe I won't. I don't care that your mac connects every time without fail-I'm a pc
I'm a pc and I choose to update my software and restart without warning when you are two hours into a project
I'm a pc and the same applications that run flawlessly on your Mac will crash a bit more on me
I'm a pc and I want 500MB of RAM just to run my buggy, crash prone OS

I'm a pc and I suck.

Chillography 102 art

This is the flier art for the next installment of my ambient/chillout event series. Full event info is here: www.chillography.net.

The art style is inspired by some tutorials I spotted at psdtuts.com. This is a fantastic resource for intermediate to advanced Photoshop users that want to up their game.

More Character Design

Here is another round of sculpting, went back to my base shape to rework the foundation, I was losing volume through the rib cage and the waste. Also working on hands and the feet. they key here is to get key areas looking good before we prep the model for detailed sculpting. In these shots I can see the I need to add some volume and shape to the side of the foot and that the trap muscles look too sharp. much more work to do.

It's what's on the inside that counts.

Sara sent this along. It's a great piece that takes qualities that you define about yourself and assembles a tree from bits around the net. My first tree sucked, but the idea is really kind hearted and light (which we could all use from time to time).

Form and Shape

Building the foundation, concentrating on form and shape. With a good foundation, I can add in lots of detail. This is about three hours worth of sculpting. I haven't touched the hands or feet yet, just body and head.

Blocking out the Base

I use a few different applications for this process but primarily i will do all of my work in Zbrush, a digital sculpting application and them move models into Maya for animation. Here are a couple of shots of the base form blocked out in ZBrush. This took me about an hour.

Image Planes

From concept sketch we need something to model against. two orthographic views to block out the basic form of our character. You will notice that the face and head really don't look much like the concept. this is okay, we will worry about that later

Hello, long time no blog. I have been working on my character building skills, I need to work on my ability to build more life like forms most of the work posted to date just isn't that good. soooo, I am in the process of doing some character study, approaching this by trying to blend the approach of an illustrator or sculptor with some of the processes designed for digital character design-which is how it is done by the pros or so I am told. Here is the concept sketch for the first study. I will let you decide what this guy is all about.

The secret to making money on the web

Here's an awesome video about how to make money on the web. It's aimed at dotcom startups, but I think there are interesting and valid points on how to do all kinds of business online. I enjoy it.

Here's the big version. (In an interesting player nonetheless)

Or you can watch it small here.
