Business Cards

Hi guys,

Ok, so I am by no means an expert, but I like to dabble in Photoshop. I've created a couple biz card options for my dance co. and would love some feedback from the creative peeps on the basics, font size, design, etc. They're not anything special, but I want them to at least look professional.

Please comment! I really do want feedback.

Thanks!
Andrea

Here are some production tips:

1) You'll want to keep text .1875-.25" from the edge of the card. Cutting isn't perfect and you don't want to risk loosing some text.

2) Small white text on dark background isn't a good idea. Unless you are printing with a high-end printer on high-end paper, the dark colors will bleed into the white and make it nearly unreadable.

My suggestion:

Make these double-sided cards. Run full color, full bleed card on one side of the card and put all text and contact info on the other side with no background to interfere with the printing.

Damn. I was going to suggest the same things. Now I got nothing.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate your advice! Is double-sided a lot more expensive?

I think that option #1 is the most elegant, but it doesn't leave you the space for the "Professional Bollywood Dance" (lose the ! at all cost, I think) that I think is somewhat crucial.

Option #3 hurts because of the vertical orientation and its wrapping of the text.

I'd say try and marry the two, maybe Chris's tips will help achieve that.

Another thing that I'm thinking is that there are 3 components that must be thought about when making this type of business card. How you prioritize them might help you arrive at a decision.

1) Making it look good for you.

2) What you want to achieve ... presence, a name, an image? Or business. I'm guessing the latter.

3) Your audience. You want to appeal to a potential customer on an aesthetic level, but also communication of services.

That's what I thinkz, yo.

(btw, spending a Saturday night at the coffee shop, drinking decaf is what all the cool kids are doing these days.)
