what do you do when you're too old to play with legos?

Maybe part of the problem is the attitude that you can be too old to play with legos? I don't consider myself creative but I have always had creative impulses, the desire to build things, to create with my own two hands. A few years ago I discovered an application called Blender, it is an open source program to create 3D models, to animate, to create game environments. What really struck me about it was the raw capabilities, the endless possibilities; it was like a huge box of legos sitting in front of me just waiting for me to decide what to build. So I went looking for a project and after some thought decided to make an animated series, kind of like a web based graphic novel. At the time I really didn't know what I was signing up for, nor do I have any experience or talent in any of the requisite areas that one might find in someone who has decided to create their own animated series. I don't know anything about film making, or principles of design or composition, I don't have a background with cameras, or an understanding of the science of light. Clueless but unafraid to jump in and figure it out and too naive to really understand how far over my head I was. Welcome to my world. After a lot of false starts, production on the pilot episode of 'Regn' began in Oct of 07. I hope to have the first episode, roughly 7 minutes in length live this summer.

First, can't wait to see the series.

Second, no you can't be too old to play with legos. Actually Legos thought of that. That's why they've given you the tools to design whatever you want with their little creativity blocks and when you're done, they'll send you the kit so you can build it...for real.
